Changes in Treatment Paradigm for Lung Cancer: Recent Advances

Target Audience

This symposium is directed primarily to medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, pharmacists, researchers and registered nurses interested in new developments for treatment of lung cancer. No specific skill or knowledge other than a basic training in oncology is required for successful participation in this activity. Fellows are also invited to attend.

Statement of Need/Program Overview

This program is intended to provide comprehensive updates on biology, diagnosis, and management of lung cancer. Paradigm shift in the treatment options for lung cancer will be discussed. Treatment of subhistologies of NSCLC will be discussed in detail, and controversies in subtyping of adenocarcinoma will be outlined. In addition, this symposium will present data of most promising emerging agents currently in development for the treatment of lung cancer. The format will include didactic lectures from known thought leaders, question and answer sessions, and ample opportunity for participant interaction with faculty. Emerging data from ongoing clinical research will be presented.
